Just received this message from Tony's son today and if you remember him, he would be delighted to hear from you via snail mail......post to keep his spirits up.
"I am the son of Tony Lowe who attended Prior Park in the 1960’s (not sure of dates same year as Francis Cheetham my parents best man). Daddy remembers fondly playing cricket and rugby at the school, he went on to be the Chairman of Hartlepool Rovers Rugby Club where he hosted and organised sensational games of rugby over the last decades of the amateur era including may British Lions and International players visiting Hartlepool to pull on the Oakes XV jersey for this once great amateur fixture. My father’s network of friend is vast and all due to an abundance of empathy, a sharp mind, a broad smile and an ability to engage with people of all cultures and origins, being recognised as equal and accessible to all. He is fondly thought of at many rugby clubs across the UK and Ireland, plus Hartlepool Cricket club where in the summer months he was recognised as a useful fast bowler back in his day. After a career in his parents business, including amusements arcades, a theme park and a fruit machine business he retired early to enjoy life, he is sadly in a care home at Stockton-on-Tees, it would be wonderful if any Prior Park old boys who remember him could drop him a postcard to keep his moral up to: Tony Lowe, Church View Care Home, Thompson Street, Stockton on Tees.
